This new volume is largely about glass ornaments and happily includes a wide range of them. Other chapters deal with Dresden ornaments, plus paper, wax, fabric, metal, and plastic decorations. Additionally there are sections on electric lighting, tree tops, and stands.

Altogether there are nearly 2, full color photos with descriptions and values. George W. Johnson has been collecting antique Christmas decorations for over 30 years, and is a member of the Golden Glow of Christmas Past, a club for enthusiasts of Christmas memorabilia. He is an elementary and middle school teacher who specializes in working with talented and gifted students in Southern Local Schools near Logan, Ohio.

For this purpose it is an excellent book. Hopefully, I will actually get around to doing that someday but in the meantime it is a nice book to put on the coffee table during the Christmas season. George Johnson does a wonderful job of showing old ornaments and collectibles in this book. I like that the book give sizes of the ornaments. Of course the values of the christmas items are now different as this book was printed in But the pictures are just what I needed and just wonderfully done.

Very helpful to us in deciding what we should spend or offer for older ornaments. Sometimes it is hard to decide on value when our hearts lead us but this book keeps us level minded.

Lots of illustrations of their catalog from the early ‘s. Good reference book. Excellent reference book on outstanding silver plate metal work from Germany and other parts of Europe. Would recommend this book for anyone who collects WMF items.

It’s an amazing book about WMF art nouveau works and very important book for collectors of art nouveau objects. In addition to being a fabulous portrayal of a time gone by, this is the working bible for collectors of WMF, a turn of the century German mass producer of silver-plated holloware in the Jugendstil art nouveau style.

Because the products were plated rather than sterling, the manufactured items were easily affordable. This is a reprint of the company’s English catalog.

It is a fantastic and great quality reference book with pattern numbers and lovely old illustrations from their catalogue. Full of information about WMF the company, it helps me with identifying and dating pieces. The book also gives the cost of an item when it was first retailed – and you know the information is correct.

WMF produced beautiful Art Nouveau designs, which are beautifully presented. I would recommend this to anyone interested in Antiques, designs of the Art Nouveau period or the collector. If your interested in WMF Antique Collectors Club Book. If your interested in WMF then I doubt if there is a more informative book on the subject. Great piece of history of art.
